We celebrated our annual Harvest service on the 16th September, the church looked lovely as it had been decorated with beautiful flowers and gifts from the school.
Bickleigh Primary school came and celebrated with us at the church on the Friday with class 3 leading the service and doing a wonderful job as always. The school had asked all the children to bring either a canned item, fresh produce or a flower. The canned goods will be given to CHAT (Churches Housing Action Team) for the food bank and the perishable goods will be used for the community Soup & Pud club so nothing is wasted.
The harvest loaf was also made by the school children with the help of Alison Nelson and this was then paraded at the community tea as well.
As a rural parish we feel more in touch with the farming community and so this is a special time of the year in the area and the church.
